From Burnt Out DJ to Landing
Paid Gigs Worldwide
I went from unknown to getting booked internationally, and now I help DJs do the same without waiting years to get noticed.
my story
How I went from 9–5 burnout to international DJ.
Just a few years ago, I was stuck in the 9–5 - drained, frustrated, and feeling like I was completely trapped by life. Every Sunday brought that sinking feeling for me, and I struggled with recurring depression. I knew deep down I wanted more than spreadsheets, Zoom meetings, and living for the weekend. I wanted freedom. Creativity. A life that actually felt fulfilling for me.
I’d always loved electronic music - running techno nights back at university, losing myself at festivals, and feeling truly alive in those moments. Somewhere along the line, I lost that spark as I got pulled deeper into the corporate world. On my 28th birthday, I made the decision to start learning how to DJ.
That decision changed everything.
In just 2.5 years, I went from practising in my bedroom to DJing internationally. I landed regular gigs across Manchester, including two residencies in the heart of South Manchester’s bar scene. I played at some of the biggest venues in the UK - including Ministry of Sound and Parklife Festival - and reached the finals of the elrow Up & Coming DJ Competition in 2023.
Eventually, I quit my job, booked a one-way flight, and never looked back.
I’ve since played gigs across Bali, India, Thailand, and Vietnam, and built a YouTube channel with over 14,000 subscribers. I now live in Bali, where I play 12–15 gigs a month with residencies across clubs, day parties, and bars.
Before all this, I’d spent years working in sales and marketing roles at tech startups. Those experiences taught me how to pitch, network, and build genuine relationships - skills that became the secret weapon in growing my DJ career quickly. I realised that if I combined those business principles with creativity, I could build momentum faster than most DJs ever imagine.
From burnout to business: Why I created the DJ Business Academy
My journey has been a wild experience, full of lessons about confidence, resilience, and trusting yourself when there’s no guarantee. Every gig and every rejection has taught me something new about growth - both as a DJ and as a person.
And that’s exactly why I created The DJ Business Academy - to help other DJs who are where I once was.
The biggest lesson from my journey is that talent isn’t the problem. Most DJs struggle because they lack structure, confidence and a system to sell themselves. I knew how to apply business skills to the creative world – outreach, negotiation and marketing – and I wanted to share that with others. That’s why I built the DJ Business Academy
Today, I coach DJs who feel exactly how I once did – stuck, second‑guessing themselves, unsure how to go from dreaming about gigs to getting paid for them. The Academy distils everything I learned: how to build a promotable brand, create repeatable outreach, price yourself confidently and run a DJ career like a business. It’s the same framework I used to go from no gigs to paid gigs across five countries.
If I can do it, so can you.

I’ve done it myself → This isn’t theory. I’ve landed gigs across the UK, Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, and India - including residencies, festivals, and clubs like Ministry of Sound and Parklife Festival. I built my DJ career from zero industry connections, using the exact outreach and negotiation system I now teach.
✅
It’s about action, not just ideas → This program doesn’t waste time on empty motivation. You’ll learn exactly what to say, when to follow up, and how to get paid gigs consistently - with step-by-step systems and real examples from my own experience.
✅
You’ll never do it alone → You get direct weekly support, honest feedback, and hands-on coaching designed around your goals - not generic one-size-fits-all advice. Every step, you’ll have guidance from someone who’s walked the same path.
Why I Created This Program
Why I Created This Program
I know what it’s like to feel stuck as a DJ: sending messages that get ignored, playing for free, and wondering how others are landing real gigs.
No one handed me opportunities. I had to figure out how to build a career from nothing: learning how to pitch, follow up, and turn one gig into more.
That’s why I created The DJ Business Academy: to give DJs a system that actually works in the real world.
Lack of confidence and business skills should never be a barrier in stopping DJs from doing what they love.
